Meet Susan Ogilvy - Music Director/ Piano Teacher
Susan Ogilvy has been working in music for over 40 years operating various music schools and programs during that time. She holds a B.M.E. (‘71) and M.M.E (‘73) from the University of North Texas where she studied piano with Robert J. Rogers and Margaret Grubb. She was a full scholarship accompanist, studying voice with Grant Williams and accompanying the Chapel Choir at UNT for 4 years. Susan was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Sigma Alpha Iota, and played Harpsichord for the UNT Madrigal Singers.
She has written piano solos for Alfred Publishers, Stephens’ Development Co., and for the “Celebrate Piano!” method published by Frederick J. Harris (Canada)
Susan is co-owner, along with husband Jim, of Ogilvy Music Publishing, writing and arranging Keyboard Orchestra music since the early '80's. From 2001 to 2009 Susan was a Consultant for the Yamaha Corporation of America, working with teachers from all over the country for the Clavinova Festival. She was rehearsal accompanist for the Dallas Symphony Chorus and is a certified Kindermusik teacher.
Meet Samuel Jennings - Piano Teacher
Samuel Jennings has been teaching private piano lessons since 2018 and brings a supportive, engaging approach to each lesson. A recent graduate of Texas Woman’s University with a degree in Choral Music Education, Samuel also has classroom experience in both choir and elementary music, making them a versatile and well-rounded educator.
With a strong background in classical piano and a passion for connecting with students, Samuel strives to make music both accessible and enjoyable for learners of all ages. Lessons are tailored to individual needs and interests, blending technical skill-building with creativity and musical expression.
Samuel emphasizes collaboration, encourages confidence, and often incorporates modern music technology into lessons to enhance the learning experience. Known for their patience, positivity, and adaptability, Samuel helps each student feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow as a musician.

Meet Josh Calef - Drum Teacher
Josh Calef is a professional drummer, educator, and workshop facilitator who brings a dynamic mix of artistry, energy, and heart to every lesson and performance. With a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas, Josh’s background includes performing and recording with the internationally acclaimed UNT One O’Clock Lab Band and making a standout appearance at the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Academy in 2021.
Josh has a deep understanding of rhythm and musical expression across a variety of genres—from jazz and funk to pop, rock, and world percussion. His approach to teaching is rooted in the belief that rhythm is a universal language—one that builds confidence, encourages creativity, and fosters connection.
In addition to private drum lessons, Josh leads rhythm-based workshops throughout North Texas, helping students and communities explore music in hands-on, interactive ways. His lessons are upbeat and inclusive, focusing on groove, listening skills, technique, and self-expression. Whether working with beginners or advanced drummers, Josh creates a supportive, high-energy space where students are encouraged to grow, experiment, and truly enjoy the music-making process.
Meet Garyn Manghera - Piano Teacher
With over a decade of teaching experience, Garyn Manghera is passionate about helping students of all ages and backgrounds grow as musicians. They have worked with students aged 4 through adult, including those with diverse learning needs and disabilities, and focus on guiding beginners, intermediate, and advanced pianists alike through engaging, personalized instruction.
For Garyn, learning piano is most rewarding when it’s supportive, inspiring, and fun. Their teaching philosophy centers on creating a safe, inclusive space where students are encouraged to adopt a growth mindset—seeing challenges not as setbacks, but as opportunities to grow in both musical expression and technical skill. Lessons are designed to be well-rounded, blending technique, theory, sight-reading, improvisation, and artistic expression.
Garyn holds a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy (2025) and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in Piano Performance (2023), both from Texas Woman’s University. Above all, they are passionate about helping every student discover their own voice at the piano, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of music.
Meet Tim Courtney - Guitar Teacher
Tim has been teaching and performing in North Texas for 20 years. Tim has performed a variety of musical styles throughout his career. While spending his early days playing in hard rock and heavy metal bands in his hometown of Buffalo, NY, Tim’s desire to learn new styles led him to study jazz and classical guitar. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in guitar performance from SUNY Fredonia, Tim was awarded a graduate assistantship at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN where he earned his Master’s degree in performance. Tim was awarded a teaching fellowship at the University of North Texas upon entering the Doctor of Musical Arts program. Specializing in fingerstyle and classical guitar, Tim’s repertoire spans over 5 centuries; from renaissance music of Spain to contemporary compositions of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Meet Christina Miller - Strings Teacher
(all level violin and viola, beginner-intermediate cello, beginner double bass):
Christina Miller was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She was a member of the well-known MacArthur High School Orchestra in Northeast ISD, as well as concertmaster in the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio (YOSA). Upon graduating high school she moved to Denton, Texas to pursue her degree in Music Education at the University of North Texas. She graduated in 2014 with her bachelor's degree, and has been teaching privately and in the DFW area public schools ever since. She has started a new orchestra program, rebuilt a few established ones, and has experience with both middle and high school. Mrs. Miller is a member of TMEA and TODA.
In her free time Mrs. Miller loves spending time with her husband and 2 kids, tending to her pets (1 dog, 2 cats, and 5 chickens!), playing in her church orchestra and the Denton Philharmonic Orchestra, cooking, being outdoors, and watching sci-fi re-runs.
Meet Hank Chang - Strings Teacher
Mr. Chang was educated in violin and viola performance, and in orchestral conducting in Korea, Europe, and at the University of North
Texas. He has studied with many prominent musicians in each country. His musical career spans 25 years, including playing viola in symphony orchestras, teaching strings at universities, organizing international music festivals and conducting orchestras of different levels. He has recently been conducting the Ascolti Korean Chamber Orchestra in his native Korea, and has worked for many years with the Sunsim Benedict Youth Orchestra.
\Mr. Chang very much wants to share his deep love of classical music with the students of the Denton area. Mr. Chang is married to See-Eun, who is a choir director, and they have two violin playing boys, Johan and Daehan.
Meet Jannon Fuchs - Clarinet Teacher
Jannon Fuchs began teaching clarinet at age 12 when her band director set her up to give lessons to new band members. She later trained as a neuroscientist in Chicago, Boston, Southern California, etc., and wherever she went, she played in dozens of musical groups. Her most cherished opportunities range from playing in a world premier with the Chicago Contemporary Chamber Players to playing the principal clarinet in La Forza del Destino at the International Verdi Festival. Jannon is currently a Professor at the University of North Texas, and has won national awards for her research mentoring. She draws upon neuroscience as she seeks to understand music. On the side, she spoils her grandchildren, scuba dives, travels, and helps bring recognition to a new hybrid field called NeuroClimate.
Meet Cynthia Cundall- Violin Teacher
Cynthia is a mother of 4 who had a knack for playing violin. She has been playing for over 50 years and has composed and arranged many pieces over the years. The wife of violin maker Steven Cundall, she uses her violin skills at work to help her customers.
